Project
Prediction of the plausible sites more susceptible to stenotic plaque deposition in coronary arteries.
Project Summary
In this project , we develop a non-invasive diagnostic method for coronary artery disease. A novel idea called "virtual stenosis method" is established based on computational approach and clinical validation study. Eventually, this technology will help clinicians identify what patients are more susceptible to coronary artery disease.
Business Model
We aim to provide a medical information service for non-invasive diagnosis of coronary artery disease (CAD). For this purpose, the medical images of CAD patients gathered from hospitals will be processed and analyzed by our service team. Of course, clinicians in hospital will be our major clients, but the service charge will be paid by the national medicare program of Korea and partially by patients.
Main Achievements
There were three remarkable progresses via this project.
1) Development of a novel patient-specific method of virtual stenosis
2) Clinical validation study to test clinical efficacy of the present technique
3) Submission of a research paper to an international journal
