Project Summary
In 2013, Dable started as a in-house-venture team affiliated to SK Planet, providing AI recommendation platform for customers like '11th street' one of the largest online commerce. We were called "RecoPick" at that time and the name soon became famous across the industry because our recommendation engine outperformed other solutions in the market. By popular demand from outside of SK Planet, the team decided to run our own business. At that point of time, news medias had the largest demand for AI contents recommendation service and soon they became our largest customers. However, conventional SAAS business model did not fit for news medias, instead they preferred Ad. revenue share model, which later on became our main source of revenue. This is called "sponsored native ad" business in the U.S. and there are already huge unicorns such as Taboola and Outbrain who runs the same business model.

Business Model
Dable Inc. provides AI based contents recommendation widget to online contents platforms such as news media, online community, blog, and portal sites. In return, Dable earns 50% of advertisement revenue generated from the recommendation widget.

According Joongang Ilbo, one of the big 3 press in Korea, Dable widget generates 4 times more CTR than manual recommendation.

Main Achievements
Dable started fully commercialized sponeored native ad service since Mar 2016 and just in less than 2 years we have become #1 recommendation service for various type of contents channels including news media, online communities, blogs on both PC and mobile. Financially, in FY 2017, we have achieved 7.8 million USD revenue, which is 460% of growth than the previous year. In terms of profitability, we have reached monthly break even point in 3rd quarter in 2017 and earned 0.3 million USD operation profit. About 75% of revenue comes from more than 900 news media partners, which is 1/3 of entire news media exist in Korea. As a result of effort to go abroad, Dable was able to generate 37 mil widget impression per a day from outside of Korea, namely Indonesia, Taiwan and Japan. We are going to focus more on international business development this year.
